Zumbathon in aid of local charities

On Saturday 3 March, a wonderful team of 10 Zumba instructors led a two-and-a-half hour Zumbathon at Bucks Uni in aid of two fantastic local charities, scannappeal and the Thomas Ball Children’s Cancer Fund. Around 85 Zumba fanatics enjoyed a great dance workout, and a few lucky winners got their hands on some great prizes in our charity raffle!

We’re still adding up the final pennies, but thanks to the support of everyone who attended, we’re hopeful of handing over a total of £900 to our chosen causes.

Well done everyone, and thank you!

No time to exercise? I beg to differ!

One of the most common excuses I hear for not being able to exercise is not having time.  Now I know modern life can leave us feeling like this – what with working, cooking, being a parent or carer and running a home, time can sometimes be limited for other things.  However, we all have the same 24 hours in each day and it’s what you decide to do with those hours that might make the difference between you and the next person who seems to have time to be ‘always working out’.

With just a little bit of organisation you can make time to build an exercise regime to fit in to your lifestyle.   You don’t need to join a gym, and you don’t have to spend hours at a time pounding the cardio machines and then not getting results.  In fact, if you do the right type of exercise, you can achieve results in just 15 minutes a day (and this can be equivalent to spending around an hour in the gym), with exercises that can be done at home.  Just think where you might get that 15 minutes from – how long do you spend watching TV in the evenings?  Or surfing the internet, or wasting time on facebook??  I believe that EVERYONE can find 15 minutes in their day to fit in some exercise.

So, look at your day, look at what you are doing and where you could gain that time from.  If you are really struggling, then feel free to drop me a line and I’ll help you.  I can also give you some pointers for the right kind of exercise to do.

As well the online bootcamp, I will have a brand new range of online workouts coming soon too – The Toned in Ten range.  Ten days with 10 minutes a day to get AMAZING results!  So keep watching this space.

See you all soon!

Alice’s pregnancy blog part 2

Well it’s been a few weeks since I did my first post, so thought I’d update at week 24 with a short note and new picture!

This pic was taken just before heading out to our 2011 Pyramid Health and Fitness Ltd Christmas party. Bump is appearing and everything else is too!!!

The evening was great fun, and I managed to last the night without drinking and some dancing too, although must say my feet are now getting crippled when I wear my high heels!!!!

Been feeling great over the past few weeks, managing to do a lot of walking, some gym visits although no swimming due to itchy scabby rash – not a good look!!! so back in to that in the New Year while I still can!!! As i’ve been told come 3rd trimester the 1st trimester symptoms may hit me again and then some!

Last class is 21 December and although will miss it, looking forward to a break over Christmas, to have a few days off and just relax! and it’s been nice this week actually having a lie in – 8.30am for the past 3 days, unheard of for me, even at the weekends, so guessing must need my sleep!!!!

I shall post again in a few weeks time, when I’m sure there’ll be even more of a change!
